The Will to Win is not Nearly Important as the Will to Prepare to Win………..You May be Disappointed if You Fail, but You are Doomed if You Don’t Try.

Objective

To qualify as many athletes as possible to the AAU and USATF Junior Olympics National Championships

Practice: Athletes in all event areas;

  1. Attend practices with the right attitude! (train to become a champion)
  2. Be coachable!
  3. Be positive!
  4. Work with other athletes (perform workouts with at least another member in your  event areas and be encouraged to help and support other athletes as well).
  5. Make additional arrangement for workouts when conflicts arise.
  6. Follow instructions and directions of the coaches.

Post Practice Stretch

 – You should stretch immediately after practice and stretch again two or three hours later.

General Program

  1. Last year the major emphasis was developing more structured workouts for small groups and individuals.
  2. As we were very successful last year, we will continue with this same major emphasis this year.
  3. In addition, we will also place major emphasis on work ethics during stretching, agility and warm-up drills.
  4. We will execute more form drills, etc., along with taking flexibility measurements.
  5. Athletes are expected to perform the above as instructed, in groups or as individuals.

Notes

  1. One to three hours after workouts is when food is necessary for recovery.

“Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent.  Most talents are, to some extent, a gift.  Good character, by contrast, is not given to us.  We have to build it piece by piece–by thought, choice, courage and determination.”

Good luck to all!

Our goal is to continue to produce Champions.
