Membership

  1. The New York Starz Youth Club serves all youth in and around Westchester County without regard to gender, race, religion or socioeconomic status.  Community youth are generally signed up for our track and field program without regard to their physical ability.
  2. Prospective youth who would like to join the club for the track and field program are generally allowed two (2)tryout sessions, after which, a decision to join or not to join is requested by the 2nd Vice President in charge of membership.
  3. Members must be in acceptance with the objectives of the New York Starz Youth Club.
  4. Maintenance of member file includes, but not limited to application, medical form (not more than 1 year old), copy of birth certificate, recent picture, and the current year USATF and AAU membership cards.
  5. Maintain current paid up status of seasonal dues, which is set by the Executive Board.  Members who are more than 30 days in arrears, will have their voting privileges suspended and are not eligible for club benefits until the dues are paid in full.  Dues are subject to change at the discretion of the majority vote of the Executive Board at any meeting held for such purpose.
  6. Members who take time off from the track and field program but continue to pay membership dues are entitled to full voting privileges and all club benefits as active members.
  7. Members who take time off from the track and field program but do not pay membership dues for the season will have their voting privileges suspended and are not eligible for club benefits until the dues for the season they were inactive is paid in full.  If they decide to forego the inactive season and pay dues as of the season they return then they will be entitled to the privileges and benefits afforded to new members.  Their membership dues will be $150.  However, they will be responsible for paying the annual AAU and USATF membership fees, plus an additional $10 for re-registration cost.  If returned to active dues paying status within six months, they will be allowed to retain only the assets they accumulated before taking time off.  This is subject to change at the discretion of the majority vote of the Executive Board at any meeting held for such purpose.
  8. The current membership dues is $150 per season per child and payment expected by the end of the first week of the new season.  The dues amount is subject to change at the discretion of the majority vote of the Executive Board at any meeting held for such purpose.
  • Becoming a registered member of the New York Starz Track Club is easy.  As mentioned above, a prospective new member is entitled to two (2) tryout practice sessions free of cost.  This allows the athlete to evaluate the workouts, other athletes on the team and coaches to determine if the program meets with his/her expectation.  Likewise, it allows the coaches to perform their own evaluation.
  • At the end of the second practice, the parents would be provided with an “Application Form” and a “Medical Form” to be completed by the athlete’s physician.  A copy of the athlete’s birth certificate and a recent photo are required to complete the athlete’s file.
  • Currently, the total cost to sign up for the first season is $190.  This covers the first season’s membership dues, USATF and AAU annual membership cards and a $10 club registration fee.
  • Parents may choose to purchase team uniforms and other club supplies at the time of registration or soon thereafter.

The Starz Track Club is also well known for working with top high school athletes.  Some went on to earn athletics scholarships to reputable colleges and universities, with some even reaching the level that allowed them to try out for the US Olympics and World Championship teams.  High school athletes who are looking for that extra help are welcome to join our program.  We are convinced that the Starz Track Club has some of the best USATF qualified youth coaches in the area and would be only willing to help high school athletes closer to their athletics goals.  A donation to the club as a show of good faith is a good way to confirm your interest.

For more information about the high school program and how to sign up, please visit us at one of our practice sessions or call (914) 473-3480.
